The Cellar Advisor team recently travelled to Bordeaux for En Primeur week, visiting 39 châteaux and tasting hundreds of fine wines across both banks. On the Right Bank, we explored the celebrated appellations of Saint-Émilion and Pomerol, before crossing to the Left Bank to taste through Pessac-Léognan, Margaux, Saint-Julien, Pauillac and Saint-Estèphe. It was an exceptional few days in the region, giving us a comprehensive first-hand insight into the 2025 vintage.
En Primeur is now underway. This is a standout vintage, combining exceptional quality, genuine scarcity, and release into a more favourable market environment.
Please find our Bordeaux En Primeur Fine Wine 2025 Vintage Report here, along with a brief summary below.
Why 2025 matters
• A benchmark vintage showing freshness, balance, and strong early critical reviews
• The smallest Bordeaux crop since 1991, with yields down by up to 40% at leading estates
• All major indices have moved into recovery over the past six months
• Bid offer spreads have tightened, signalling improving liquidity and confidence
• Pricing expected to be similar to last year, offering clear value versus older vintages
Our Approach
We act as an independent advisory broker, free from allocation pressure. Our recommendations are highly selective and driven by quality, pricing, and long term demand.
In 2024, we recommended fewer than ten wines across the entire vintage, and we expect to apply the same discipline in 2025.
